Tips for a Successful Remote Online Notary Appoinment

At Ink Savvy Notary Co., we pride ourselves on delivering efficient and secure remote online notary services. To ensure your experience is seamless and successful, we suggest following these guidelines before your session:

1. Proper Electronic Device: Ensure you have a device with a functioning camera and microphone, such as a laptop, desktop, or tablet. This enables clear communication with the notary throughout the session.

2. Stable Internet: A dependable internet connection is crucial for a successful remote notary session. Verify you have a strong, stable connection prior to your appointment to prevent technical difficulties.

3. Document Preparation: Have your document ready for notarization before the session begins. The notary cannot modify the document during the appointment, so ensure it's correctly formatted and prepared for signing.

4. Punctuality: Please join the session on time. Late arrivals may necessitate rescheduling, potentially causing delays and inconvenience.

5. Valid ID: You'll need to present valid identification during the session. Have a government-issued ID, like a driver's license or passport, ready to show the notary.

By following these simple tips, you'll set yourself up for a successful remote online notary session. If you have any questions or need clarification, don't hesitate to contact Sarah for assistance. We're here to make your experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

What is a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is an official appointed to serve as an impartial witness for important document signings. They perform notarizations or notarial acts to deter fraud. The most common service is taking acknowledgments - verifying a person's identity and willingness to sign a document.

Why do documents need to be notarized?

Notarization serves as a fraud deterrent. It ensures signers are who they claim to be and are signing voluntarily. Notaries verify identity, witness signatures, and apply their seal to documents.

Can a Notary Public refuse service?

Yes, a notary must refuse service if they:

  • Can't verify the signer's identity
  • Have a personal interest in the document
  • Can't communicate directly with the signer
  • Suspect fraud
  • The signer isn't physically present

Do you provide translators?

Signers must communicate directly with the notary. Our notaries speak Spanish, so Spanish speakers can be accommodated. Documents may be in other languages, but the notary section on the document must be in English.

What identification is acceptable?

We accept unexpired primary IDs like State ID, Driver's License, Passport, Federal ID, and Consular ID. Secondary IDs may be required if primary ID is expired or not listed.

What if the name on the ID does not match the name on the document?

The ID can have more names than the document, but not fewer. Middle names spelled out on ID but initialized on the document are acceptable. However, it is not acceptable for the document to have the middle name spelled out but the ID only has the middle initial.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, most debit and credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover) and digital payments via PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

What areas do you service?

Our mobile notary service currenly serves most of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. As a licensed Remote Online Notary, we can LITERALLY notarize documents for anyone ANYWHERE! As long as you have a computer or phone and a valid government-issued ID, we’ve got you covered!
